SOU Art Homepage

Okay, so the SOU Art Homepage is fairly easy to navigate, however I think there could be more options on the side bar, for example, maybe, if possible, a link to see major or minor requirements for the art department. Another thing I believe would be helpful would be a better explanation as to what the department has to offer on the actual homepage of the Art Department page. On the plus side though, I really like how the faculty information is easy to access as well as the class schedule for all art classes. It makes the art department seem very approachable.

March is Here (Where Did February Go?)

I apologize for the lack of updates in February. Talk about one hell of a busy month, and not just for Art 351! The term is near its end and I wonder how much I've developed over it. Well, for starters, I had no clue how to do anything in Adobe Flash and now I think I can hold my own...slightly. Not to mention the AMU 223 class has also had a huge impact on learning different programs on a Mac. Now I think I am safe to say I am bi-platform. Anyway, March is here (and so will the other 11 months really, really soon! (a little teaser for the project I've been working on!)) and I promise I will have something posted hopefully today, but more likely, Wednesday.

Cheers!

Update

It's been a while since I've updated my blog, which, to be honest, there hasn't been much going on since I last posted, besides the fact I won a Nintendo DS for winning a spelling bee here on campus. It's pretty cool. My original plans were to sell it if I had won it, in which case I did, but my girlfriend took a keen interest in it and, like a virus, it caught onto me as well. I guess I won't be selling it to my brother then. But besides this little infectious device, nothing else has been going on, really. My mother and my nephew have a birthday party going on this weekend, so I'm going back home for the weekend. So.....yeah, there's the update. Hopefully I'll have something interactive posted shortly. I'm in the works of two projects currently. So talk to ya soon.

Dulcet--ICCAs 2009

ICCAs 2009 went very well for us. We sounded magnificent and we were just overall excellent, however, three other groups did better than us, thus placing us in fourth place, but I think this year's ICCAs was one of our best performances...ever.

Yeehaw!

Advent Calendar Pondering

So, I'm gonna be completely honest, I have no clue as to what the Advent Calendar project entitles, so if anyone could explain it to me then I will congratulate him or her with a "Thank you!" But, however, in thinking of what images I shall use for my calendar, guitar images come to mind--not that I'm obsessed with guitars or anything (maybe I am, who knows?). That reminds me, I haven't recently checked on prices for an Epiphone G-1200 (cherry finish) or an Epiphone 1966 G-400 (silverburst finish), so I wonder if they've gone cheaper. Again, I'm not exactly obsessed (having 6 guitars and wanting at least two more doesn't make me crazy, does it?).

Anywhosers, I've got to get to bed cause I'm tired and Saw V pushed me behind in my bed time! Saw V is a great movie, recommended to fellow Saw fans. With that said...g'night!

Smokin' Flash Site

...Well, not necessarily a Flash site, but it's a link with nine freakin' cool Flash animations on it. Pretty funny AND impressive! Check it out:

New Place version 2.0

The place is called Imagine That! Adult Superstore in Lincoln City, OR. This is the first time I have been to an adult or "porn" shop. Never before have I seen so many phalluses and latex labias in one place...come to find out there are hundreds of various types of dildos. It made me feel a little squeamish being surrounded by objects that would eventually be doused with genital fluids. Definitely an experience...but only for 18+ please.

Some Drawings

Here are just a few funny pictures I drew today, and I've gotta say, Mr. Peanut would have to be my favorite. Everyone thinks he's innocent but I know he's up to something! And don't ask me what the second drawing is...I think it's a bird. It also kinda reminds me of a crippled buffalo. And the last one is what you would see if you met me in person, no body, just a floating head...with a 5 o' clock shadow (how else am I supposed to shave with no hands?).

Target

So today was the first time I went to the Medford Target, shocking, I know. I went shopping for some birthday gifts for my girlfriend and I was stupid enough to let her have her gifts NOW if she guessed them right...she guessed them right. But, hey, now she doesn't have anything to open on her REAL birthday which is two days away, so I guess it's her loss. It's all good though. I also picked up Pineapple Express and some of that new Axe shampoo stuff. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. However, Target has never given me a bad experience, so kudos, Target, and thank you.

Interactivity

Interactivity describes a communication between people or people with objects. When thinking about interactivity, video games come to mind. Over Christmas break I finally finished Kingdom Hearts II. I'd been working on that game for over a year. Not that the game is difficult, but I sometimes have a difficulty finishing things I've started, and since my girlfriend had been playing the game as well, I decided to finish it just to give her a little bit more instruction because I'm helpful like that. And another thing that instantly came to my mind when thinking about interactivity is the interaction between people making music. For the most part, it isn't necessarily how musicians communicate, but what awesomeness they create.
